It helps enormously if you include your iPhone model, your iOS version, the Moat version (Settings → About), and a screenshot of the problem.

What we can help with.

Something is broken

A crash, an export that fails, a frame that looks wrong, or anything that does not behave the way this page says it should.

Purchases

A purchase that did not unlock, or restoring it on a new iPhone.

Feature requests

A device we have not drawn yet, a background you want, an export size we are missing. We do read these.

Privacy questions

Anything about what the app touches. The short answer is in the privacy policy.

Common questions.

How many exports do I get for free?

Five exports a week, which resets automatically. A single one-off purchase removes the limit for good — there is no subscription and nothing recurring.

I paid, but Moat still says I am on the free plan

First, make sure you are signed in to the same Apple Account that made the purchase, then use Restore Purchases on the paywall screen.

If it still has not unlocked, email us with the date of purchase and we will get it working. You will not be asked to pay twice.

Can Moat see my photo library?

No. Moat uses Apple's system photo picker, which hands the app only the specific images you tap. It is granted no library access at all and cannot browse, search or see anything else.

Saving an export asks for add-only permission — enough to write the finished image, never to read anything back. Full detail is in the privacy policy.

Do my screenshots get uploaded anywhere?

Never. Moat has no server and no account. Every bit of compositing, framing and exporting happens on your iPhone. Your screenshots never leave the device, and we never see them.

My export looks different from the preview

It should not — the preview and the export are drawn by the same code at two sizes, precisely so they cannot drift. If you find a case where they disagree, that is a bug and we would genuinely like to see it. Send us the screenshot and your settings.

How do I get a transparent background?

Choose None in the background picker and export as PNG. JPEG cannot store transparency, so it will come out with a solid backdrop instead.

Can I put more than one screenshot on a canvas?

Yes — up to three, arranged as a row, a fan, or a stack. That is the fastest way to produce a full App Store set in one pass.

My device is not in the frame list

Moat draws 19 iPhones from the iPhone Duo down to the SE. Because every frame is geometry rather than an image, adding a device is quick — tell us which one you need and we will look at putting it in the next update.

Does Moat work offline?

Completely. The background library ships inside the app, so nothing is downloaded and no network connection is needed at any point.

How do I delete everything Moat has stored?

Delete the app. Presets, settings and any imported images live only in the app's own private container, so removing it removes all of it. We hold nothing on our side to delete.

How do I request a refund?

Purchases are handled by Apple, so refunds go through them — use reportaproblem.apple.com and sign in with your Apple Account. If Apple declines and you think something went wrong on our side, write to us.

Still stuck?

Write to us. Include your iPhone model, iOS version and a screenshot, and we will take it from there.
